UVM Extension - Vermont 4-H / VISTA Program
Shape the Future of Vermont’s Youth
Full-time, 1 year position. Candidate will build capacity for the
Vermont 4-H Youth Leadership program by developing and piloting an
afterschool youth leadership program that engages youth in exciting
service learning activities, promotes self worth, and advances
leadership and life skills. The VISTA will recruit youth not
traditionally seen as leaders, including those who are from low-income
backgrounds. The VISTA will also recruit community volunteers,
strengthen relationships with community groups and businesses, and
develop strategies to ensure community involvement in sustaining the
program once the VISTA has completed service.
VISTA members receive a living allowance, health care benefits,
professional skill building training, and opportunity to put qualified
student loans in forbearance. We are looking for reliable people of
all ages, preferably with a college degree. The position will serve a
regional audience working from the University of Vermont Extension
office in Morrisville.
