Publicity Coordinator: Spring Hill Horse Rescue (SHHR) is recruiting a communications and publicity intern for the 2011-2012 academic year. Responsibilities include writing press releases, editing SHHR’s newsletter, identifying media opportunities, promoting events and fundraisers through print and social media, and representing SHHR at public events. POSITION SUMMARY

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
§         Performs installation, diagnosis, repair, maintenance and upgrades for all hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance.
§         Provides technical support and training to end-users in a wide variety of software applications including performing question/problem diagnosis to ensure optimal workstation performance and end-user satisfaction.
§         Works with end-users to identify and resolve various computer, software and hardware problems.
§         Provides coordinated end-user training and support by receiving and responding to customer calls, pages and emails and assesses requests for response in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
§         Guides end-users through step-by-step resolution in a call center environment clearly communicating technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner.
§         Utilizes knowledge of Microsoft Remote Installation Server (RIS) and Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) to create and distribute desktop images; manage and troubleshoot end-user desktops; and distribute software updates and perform post resolution follow-up and testing.
§         Analyzes demographic data related to each ticket and provides recommendations to aid in the prevention of future end-user problems by compiling data, preparing reports, identifying trends, and documenting progress and resolution through the Problem & Trouble Ticket Tracking System (ITSM).
§         Participates in the development and distribution of frequently asked questions (FAQ), procedures manuals and documentation for training and help desk use.
§         Conducts periodic user satisfaction surveys and creates reports based on user feedback and trends.
§         Assists in developing a comprehensive selection of training programs and provides training to end-users on the use and application of Microsoft suite of products and other company supported software applications.
§         Provides security administration for company computer systems including adding, updating and deleting users.

QUALIFICATIONS
An associate’s degree in computer science or related field and 2 years experience working with computer hardware and peripherals, desktop configurations, IT service desk business function, deskside support and service, software implementation and training required. Candidates must have experience working in an ITSM or ticket management software environment. Demonstrated project management experience is desired. Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to present ideas in a user-friendly format are required. Preference for candidates with bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and certification in Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician, Microsoft Certified Professional or Microsoft Office Specialist. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a strong attention to detail, who excels in a fast-paced environment and provides exceptional client support to business units. After hours and on-call support is required.

IT Service Desk Internship

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • General administration of Epsilen, the College’s online learning management platform used to support the delivery of curriculum resources

  • Ability to understand and implement new educational technologies
  • Provide assistance to faculty and staff in using technology in support of teaching and research

BASIC FUNCTION
This position is accountable for the processing of payroll and the quantitative analysis of financial data, the accounting analysis and reporting of all general ledger accounting transactions and plant accounting that properly reflect the financial position of the organization in a timely and accurate manner as well as for preparing and compiling FERC and SEC regulatory filings in compliance with all internal and external regulations.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
§          Participates in the timely, accurate preparation and processing of weekly payroll including interpreting the IBEW union contract pay policies to compute wage and overtime payments, preparing and filing voluntary deduction and payroll tax reports, and processing involuntary deductions such as levies, garnishments and other third-party payments.
§          Ensures accuracy of weekly payroll process by balancing earnings and deduction totals, reviewing automated payroll system output, determining and correcting out-of-balance conditions, preparing payroll data reports for management and inclusion in financial statements.
§          Monitors and reports on capital construction budget.
§          Prepares and reviews journal entries, work papers, reconciliations and supporting documentation for various internal and external financial reports, including tracking and analyzing costs, invoicing, collection and reporting for miscellaneous third party billing and coordination.
§          Reviews and analyzes internal financial statements to ensure completeness, accuracy and conformance to established accounting procedures and principles.
§          Prepares and reviews cost of service and rate base adjustments, including supporting schedules for external reporting to FERC and SEC, and responds to requests from external auditors and addresses comments or issues raised during reviews and/or audits.
§          Monitors and enhances accounting and reporting policies and procedures including adherence to accepted internal control concepts in collaboration with the financial management team.
§          Participates in establishing and implementing corporate initiatives and objectives and serves as a resource in specific aspects of accounting and finance.

QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates for the second level must have a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business management with 2-4 years of progressive payroll and accounting business experience, and a general understanding of regulatory accounting and cost recovery principles.  Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) is essential.  The successful candidate will have strong verbal and written communications skills, demonstrated mastery of Microsoft Office software products and ERP system and electronic document management experience.

POSITION SUMMARY
The successful team member will contribute by helping the Power Supply team to effectively manage energy resources, implement hedging strategies as they are developed, verify market and vendor settlements, maintain excellent relationships with counterparties and demonstrate superior growth potential.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
§          Use load, resource and price forecasts to develop and submit bids into the wholesale markets for financially hedging customer retail load obligations.
§          Create and confirm bilateral transactions for energy in the wholesale market systems; track and record deliveries for settlement and billing verification.
§          Use Company reporting systems to estimate and verify wholesale settlement quantities and values in the regional markets; Independently research and reconcile any discrepancies.

§          Support monthly closing activities by providing summary reports on transaction and settlement activities to accounting staff.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics or a related field with accounting coursework or experience preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications is required as are outstanding problem resolution and decision-making skills. Experience with Business Objects or similar database query and analysis tool is desirable. An understanding of database concepts and management is helpful. Must be highly organized. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills combined with a demonstrated ability to cultivate strong working relationships are essential.
