The Department of Homeland Security, U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Vermont Service Center, is currently accepting applications for temporary employment under the Student Educational Employment Program.

Applications will be accepted until April 16, 2011.

Work Locations
75 Lower Welden Street St. Albans, Vermont
and/or
                               
30 River Road Essex, Vermont

Job Summary: Typical duties may include conducting security checks; answering telephones; responding to general inquiries; managing correspondence; providing customer support; processing documents; managing and maintaining files, reports and information systems or databases. 

Work Hours:  Expected to work full time (40 hrs. per week) during the summer and school breaks.  Expected to work a minimum of 20 hrs. per week during non-summer hours

Benefits:  Students in these positions earn paid annual and sick leave.   After completing one continuous year of service, students will be eligible for health insurance coverage but will be required to pay 100% of the premium. 

Eligible candidates must be:
  • U .S. Citizen
  •  Enrolled at least half-time in a degree granting program in an accredited institution (to include high schools), and
  • Possess an overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or better on a 4.0 scale
